On September 27th, 2024, JCI Lebanon launched an emergency appeal fundraiser, in response to the intensifying attacks on Lebanese territory. The number of internally displaced persons (IDPs) peaked at 875,000, in early November 2024. A ceasefire was declared on November 27th 2024.
From the start of the escalation, JCI Lebanon built an emergency response team and created a two-step plan to optimize the impact of the funds raised thanks to the international community:
- Immediate response: accurately and efficiently responding to the needs of our members, fellow citizens and IDPs.
- Long-term response: Ensuring sustainable impact through strategic initiatives, in line with JCI RISE.
